Hotmelts - Medical
Adhesive Bonding Technology
For skin contact and more. Hot melt adhesives as components of medical products, especially those for direct skin contact, have been a core product for artimelt since 2009.
As a manufacturer of hot melts for the medical sector, artimelt produces adhesives for both direct skin contact, such as wound plasters and dressings, and indirect skin contact, such as surgical and drape cloths, composit films or electrodes. The products meet the requirements of ISO 13485 and ISO 10993 for biocompatibility and cytotoxicity. They are free of latex, phthalates and solvents and can be processed on conventional coating equipment.
Developed to meet specific customer requirements, our hot melt adhesives offer additional functions to their primary purpose, such as stimulating the healing process, supporting an antimicrobial barrier or acting as a stabiliser, depending on the application. They are used in various applications such as elastic bandages, wound dressings, medical tapes, wearables, surgical drapes, electrodes and medical device packaging closures, etc.
artimelt also has the technology to offer sterilisable hot melts for gamma, x-ray and ethylene oxide sterilisation.
We offer a versatile range of customisable hot melt properties for medical applications.
Since entering the market in 1981, artimelt has established, continuously expanded, and consolidated its position as one of the leading hot melt specialist.
