Sealing and bonding technology is closely linked to surface technology. High quality, durable adhesive results can be obtained on well-prepared surfaces. Without plasma pretreatment, many materials, especially plastics such as polypropylene (PP), polyetheretherketone (PEEK) or polyoxymethylene (POM), cannot be bonded effectively, or indeed at all. Ensuring high adhesive strength and long-time stable bonding of glass, metal, ceramics and plastics is a particular challenge for manufacturing industries.
Surface modification by means of Openair-Plasma® pretreatment with simultaneous microfine cleaning enhances the adhesion capacity and bonding strength of surrounding adhesive surfaces. Openair-Plasma® systems are very easy to integrate into joining processes, especially in series production.
